The only part of Westworld I found worth watching was every move that Thandie Newton made. When my character Di looked into the mirror in my mind, she stared back at me with a quality that I can only describe as Thandie Newtonness.
What is Thandie Newtonness? Resilience. Intelligence. Determination. Beauty (bien sur), but a hard-won kind, a beauty that has had to stand up for itself. Beauty with a fist.
Those qualities certainly apply to Maeve in Westworld, and I hope I am able to infuse those qualities in Di as she moves through her thousandth lifetime, still trying to get free of the past that wants to hold her back, from Byzantium to San Diego's Gaslamp District.
And, y'all, Thandie Newton is one hell of a muse: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0628601/, if you need a sample.
